Behind the scene with my MENTOR / INVESTOR – Building a BUSINESS BRAND

Contact us to Add a Trainer

When I was laid off from my lucrative CTO position I reached out to my mentor for some advice. After some discussion he ended up investing in my YouTube channel and has been active in helping me determine how to make the business successful by developing strategies to help increase ROI.

For those of you who wanted to understand my investor's relationship to the YouTube channel, this is an inside perspective of what it's like to have an investor and mentor helping guide your business.

I think this may have been your best video so far. I really enjoyed listening in on this type of strategy session. I enjoyed hearing the insight of your mentor and “sitting in” on this meeting. Seeing how a channel is built and listening to feedback behind the scenes was fascinating.

Dan I love to watch your Channel because ( you take the mystery out of working on your own exotic car )
There seems to be a preconceived notion that only the dealership is capable and qualified to work on a Ferrari, or any other exotic car.

Hey, Dan. I have been watching your channel since the beginning and even though you no longer have an F430, your content is still relevant to me. I also recall not to long ago when you were celebrating 5K subscribers. You’ve come a long way since then in a relatively short period of time. Just remember that YouTube success takes time and you are truly on the right path. Sure, there may be some of your videos I like more than others but I watch ALL of them because the premise is what carries such significance… normal guy, supercar. Keep up the great work!

I happen to enjoy your channel. Especially the DIY stuff. I waited for each video when you guys did the major on the 348. Very disappointing to hear that the Testarossa project won’t be happening. I like the idea of teaming up with Josh. He’s a technician with quick wit and a great sense of humor. Keep your chin up, all of a sudden things change. ?

Great video that answers a few of my questions about your thought process and how you choose your content. For me, as a die hard “Dan-fan” who has been here since sub 800 subscribers I really hope you get the momentum to get the channel going and don’t quit on us.

Hey Dan…love the DIY with Josh. You guys have great video chemistry. It’s a shame that someone in your area could not rent out garage space for next to nothing. Another thing I’ve seen some of the larger car channels start doing are raffles for vehicles. Using mechanize for a chance to win. It just seems like all the larger channels are going to this model.

I came for the DIY engine out and I am here for tech content. Also Meg is hilarious. I could live without the talking videos but honestly I’m going to watch them all because all of your content is entertaining and informative.

Thanks for sharing this. It’s great to hear the perspective from someone who is the business person, and not a fan or gearhead, per se. I’m glad that he was able to ask the right questions and give you the opportunity to focus. And, in all honesty, his questions are good for all of us trying to produce content because we all need those questions from time to time. My i8 DIY stuff does really well compared to my other videos, but I’m going to run out of DIY soon. Focusing on ownership experience is important for me and gives me some things to think about. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and I come back to your channel because the life you’ve shared on YouTube is something I can very much relate to, and I get to learn more about Ferrari’s, which I have zero experience with other than recording them at events.

It actually gave me the courage to upload another video to my channel just now and to keep working at it
    Thanks man!!

Fantastic video Dan… Your investor sounds like he believes in you…. I really enjoy the DIY at home projects you do.. Stay focused we love what you’re doing… I find your videos so relaxing and fun to watch. ??

Keep with it, Dan. I’m a fan of your DIY stuff, and I’m going to be looking for my first Ferrari Q1 2020. Your channel has given me reassurance in spending that kind of money knowing that I can manage some of the costs of ownership by working on the car myself. ??
