ABOUT ME
I'm Shaina: Life Coach, former rule-follower and 90's music fan living it up in Los Angeles.

Here’s the deal. I quit the corporate grind – in tons of debt – to build my dream career and life. It was the best decision I ever made! And now, I help others get unstuck and make sh** happen.

On YouTube, I teach important lessons not being taught in traditional classrooms. And I'm here to inspire you to take action toward your dreams and laugh a bit along the way.

Coaching is my superpower. I live and breathe this work.

When I'm not coaching my clients, you’ll most likely find me tackling my next home design project or watching Bravo!

Of course! Technically you don’t need to be certified to call yourself a life coach, which is not always good thing lol. I chose the program that I did because it was the “work” that really changed things for me so naturally, it spoke to me. My advice to you is to start with your own life- your own story. WHY do you want to be a coach? What has helped you, specifically, get from where you were to where you are now, etc. Then, just start researching different programs out there and see which one feels right! Hope this helps a little!

Hi! Thanks for replying!! I am not. I’m so confused as to where to even start! Some people say you don’t need to be certified, while others say you should. Gotta figure out what I need, but any help you can provide is appreciated!

Thanks Shaina for sharing your inspiring story and congrats on living your life purpose! I’m just now starting to enjoy the fruition of my own personal development work and am looking to start training with iPEC in a couple of months! I’ve been like a life coach all my life without realizing it :S So happy to get into my zone of genius! Wish me luck!! 😀 Keep up the good work!!

You’re so hilarious! Coaching is still fairly new… when we were younger it wasn’t like “oh I can become a life coach!” … it didn’t even exist! It totally took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do to!

?? I really wish I knew what coaching was back then, but then again- I probably wouldn’t be a great coach if I didn’t go through what I went through! p.s. Love your thumbnail and channel layout ?

    Hi,

I really enjoy your videos. This one really resonated with me as I find myself on the path to discovering my life’s purpose. Would you mind sharing a list of the books you read that got you through it all? ? Thanks so much!

    1. Shaina Leis

+msmariyhanna Thank you for watching. I’m so excited for you!! It’s a great path to be on…not painless, but totally worth it. My #1 recommended book that really guided me through the whole way was Martha Beck’s Finding Your Own North Star. Also, Eckhart Tolle’s A New Earth. I would start there!! For me entire bookshelf, I’m on Goodreads : ) I hope this helps!

Shaina, I love your videos and I love your energy and how you show up in the world! You bring so much joy and passion to everything, plus your style is awesome! When I first found your videos I wondered if you’d been through the same type of trainings that I’ve been going through, because a lot of what you say reminds me of what I’ve learned in my trainings. I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that it sounds the same or similar because the concepts are the same no matter what technique or program the trainings come from. I guess my whole point here is that I think you’re awesome, I think your content is awesome, and I’m sure that you’re an amazing friend and person to know!!

I’m quitting my teaching job of 2 years this summer and moving back home to focus on something else. I just can’t see myself being a teacher 25+ years so I need to find my own passion. While I do have some ideas of what I’m going to do once I get back home I still feel like I might be an “idiot” for leaving my job since right now I don’t have something else lined up. I have a lot of time to figure it out but it still scares me.

    1. Shaina Leis

The first step is the hardest. Continuously remind yourself of WHY you made this choice to begin with. With time, you’ll realize it was the best decision you could’ve made. As far as being an “idiot,” are you an idiot for leaving or would you be more of an idiot to stay?? It’s all about perspective. Please keep me posted! and thanks for watching

I’m living the nanny trap right now!

” Easy money. Kid is great. Been 5 years.Feeling unfulfilled… oohh money. ”

I really liked your video and have been through a lot of what you described. I finally started taking the steps to make my own moves, start my business and live my best life. Life coaching has always been something that keeps coming back. I am researching and seriously looking to start a training course and am so excited!

Hey there! Next week, I have a video titled: Interested in Being a Life Coach? What You Need to Know First! You might find that video helpful 🙂 For me, I kept a sense of urgency (being my age) to motivate me everyday and work toward my bigger goals while nannying!

Hy! Tats sounds great and you took this vedio into a new level ! But the question is why is that everyone wants to be a coach when it required a life learning experience. I have read a lots of self help books and at that time I felt myself that I want to be a motivational speaker like tony Robbins les brown or Jim Rohn. But as we know it needs at least 5 years of learning experience in that specific area. I am confused ?

    1. Ajith Kumar

yes you are right in certain level, but even you agreed that there are tools which you use to make someones life get repaired. so my understanding is you have to have a life experience and powerful and reliable enough story to tell.and what you think about getting certified as a life coach.

    2. Shaina Leis

Hmmm I’m not sure where you heard that it’s necessary to have 5 years of learning experience? I’ve had people say to me, “Don’t you need to have a life, before becoming a life coach?” And I can’t help but laugh, because I know instantly that person has NO idea what a life coach is or does. As far as speaking, a 12 year old could be a motivational speaker if they wanted too- if they had a powerful enough story to tell and information to share. There’s no minimum years of experience…just the understanding of “tools,” knowing how our minds work in order to get what we want, a heightened level of consciousness/ awareness, a passion for bettering yourself and others, etc. Make sense?

  8. Deborah Brown

I can honestly say I love all your videos !!! You remind me of myself in so many ways !! I must have said “me too ” 100 x watching ? I’m also starting my journey into becoming a life coach .

    1. Shaina Leis

YES! Honestly I learned the same amount- if not more from reading and studying on my own (and of course implementing everything into my everyday life.) No client will ever ask you if you’re accredited and through which program. Being relatable, credible and knowledgeable is all you need! Can’t wait to see where your path takes you : )
