DESCRIPTION:Mentoring Training for new SSM mentors.\nDelivered by our SSM mentoring experts\, Prof Simon Capewell  and Prof Hazel Inskip.\n\n\nThis half day training course covers the key principles and practice of mentoring\, and forms the basis for all mentoring relationships organised through the Society for Social Medicine.  \nDuring this course you will: \n\nDiscuss mentoring principles\nPractice mentoring skills including active listening\, open questioning and giving effective feedback\nPractice mentoring through role play\n\nWe will allow space for discussion of ongoing mentoring practice\, to share experiences and learning among more experienced mentors. \n*********** \nPrior to joining the training we will ask all participants to do a small amount of preparatory work (20-40mins) which will be circulated in early November.
