It really is tragic that she can’t trust anybody. They don’t listen to her – there are basic issues that nobody would like to discuss on camera. Not sure about this “life coach”. Geez it must be so difficult to be in a somehow fragile state and have everybody trying to pimp you.

I mean… she is the one making a reality show-docu series about her recovery, witch she wasnt still recover here … now STOP VICTIMIZING HER!! she wants to be famous? this is the price!! she is not doing movies or anything interesting anymore… this is still what she is doing now… wants to be back in the spot light after all those years and gets offended if they ask her about her past…

Cath M-P that’s the whole point of the docu-series with OWN network. It’s a form of showing the process of her recovery, that is the main object of the footage, so it could be used as manual for viewers. She knew what she signed for and was expected to served the standards of the format, then again she refused to be questioned about it?! That’s the object of these mini docu-series, she always knew the script and forms of development then why refuse to engage in the systematic criteria of it?! It’s supposed to be a diary on her road to recovery, she knew exactly what she signed for. #Smh #SheGottaStopVictimizingHerself

Actually, Lindsay was right to tell A.J. that.
In all honesty, Lindsay does not HAVE to talk to ANYONE else about her sobriety other than her AA support worker. It is her right. Just because she agreed to do this show doesn’t mean she has to share EVERY single thing happening to her. There are things she has the right to keep sacred in order for her to get better. She doesn’t need to share every single detail of her life.
She probably felt a little betrayed and disappointed in A.J. because she didn’t just ask her about the drink thing on her own with no cameras there. She turned it into a drama when there was no need for it to be a drama. Lindsay was meaning that A.J. is supposed to support her as a friend not just put her on the spot like that.
It’s sort of like a slap in the face.
Yes, she may be a celebrity but she is just human. She’s not the only person in the world who has dealt with issues and situations in her life the wrong way.
No one is perfect. So don’t judge.

So, she’s “offended” by being asked about drinking on camera, yet she has opened her life to being on a show about her life and her struggles with addiction…  hmmm. Sounds like a typical addict defense to avoid being truthful.

@Original Pinkbird Lindsay’s problems has nothing to do with her having only having a high school education. Lindsay is more emotionally stunted, than she is intellectually. This woman doesn’t seem to know how to function like a normal person, but who can really blame her with the environment she grew up in! She pretty much has the maturity of your average 14 year old girl. I hope she gets the real help she needs and stays away from Hollywood, because that seems to be a toxic place for her.

Except Lindsay wasn’t being cooperative. She was paid to let the cameras roll. But how could the director make a decent docu-series if Lindsay got drunk and slept till noon every single day?
Oprah produced this and tried to make the most of this mess. And yes, this subject was relevant to an already cancelled TV series.

poor baby still hasn’t learned that even life coaches, therapists, preachers they’re all paid to make and destroy you in Hollywood. The farther up you climb, the more you suffer.

    1. ann l

Lace Mitchell I feel for her in a way but the reason why she’s struggling w staying sober is cause she wants all those feelings and burdens to go away.they’re not going to go away,a lot of people have burdens whether big or small ones and we have to live w them.

    2. Maurice Rivers

The difference is that Iyanla freely tells her “hot mess”, and uses that life experience to help others. Everyone has been a “hot mess” at one point in their lives, but you can use those experiences to help other avoid the same pitfalls.

    3. Your Boo's Boo

Iyanla Vanzant’s personal life is/was a hot mess, all while she was coaching people about getting their lives together on television. And what qualifications does AJ Johnson have besides being a C-list celebrity and outwardly in good physical condition?

  5. John Curran

Lindsay, the key to sobriety is the integrity you have with yourself. By making small commitments to yourself each day and following through on them you will develop the confidence you need to move you beyond your current circumstances. This simple shift in mindset has worked for me 16 years later in sobriety. Deep down you know that you can do this!

  6. getnasty08

In this one short show Lindsay had problems with:

    her therapist
    her assistant
    the magazine editor
    her friends
    Oprah

Sis, when you have so many problems with everyone maybe it’s time to look inwards.

  7. Throttle Hottle

Denial can be an ugly thing. Been an addict myself for 10 years, 9.9999999999 percemt of the time someone says you been relapsing, more than likely true. Whem someome gets defensive when asked if they been messing up, that usuappy means they have something to hide.
