You gotta be ready to apply the information that you learn unless you can find yourself in the same position or worst than when you found a mentor.
Right
The quickest path to being rich is to marry it Von Bulow style. Next be in the right place at the right time Bill Gates style. Third read quality not quantity like textbooks on accounting to be a CPA then a lawyer then misdirect your competition Thiels style. But even easier is to inherit wealth Rothchilds style. IOW you need to do your homework to do the math of getting and staying rich.

What I found to be helpful is reading a useful book you know your mentor recommended to learn the basics and afterwards with them talk about what you learned from the book. They can show something in a different light that can create a paradigm shift in yourself.
Very true! Talking to a mentor when you already have some common knowledge makes things much more efficient.
