How to Find A Real Mentor?

Who is the right mentor for you?
Where to find him/her?
How to convince that person to give you time and guide you through your struggles?

The right mentor for you is somebody who was where you are right now and who is where you want to be. On the other hand, you will find a million other people who are reading books and talking about things which do not have a practical standpoint. This is because they have never touched a startup.

Avoid them like Cancer!

How to find him/her?
Know the past of that person, look at what people say about them, find some common connections who you can ask for to check the authenticity of the person.

How to convince that person to give you time and guide you through your struggles?
i) Email with a really amazing subject line
It is the trick! It says "Seek your expert advice"
ii) Don't write about your life tragedy stories.
iii) "I need five minutes of your time. I run an XYZ business and I am struggling with XYZ. Can I get five minutes on the phone with you? "
Provide your number. Chances of getting a response are very high. If you don't get a response, follow them up after a week with a short email. The subject line should glorify them so they know your existence.

These are some shortcuts which take a person to the next level and you need to surround yourself with people who have achieved to fasten your chances of achieving.
