Find a mentor | Career Advice for Personal Growth | Ankur Warikoo Motivation
As WarikooWednesdays takes a season pause, I was thinking of what new property to come up with? Ever had troubles while trying to
#Warikoo on : find a #mentor for your #career
That brings us to a new video series: #wari-Q!
wari-Q will aim to answer questions that I get asked time and again. “How to take tough decisions?”, “How to decide on my startup idea?”, “Should I continue in a toxic job?”, “How do I find out my passion?”
The video series will aim to answer these questions and also ensure everyone else with similar questions has a quick reference point.
Today is the very first episode, and I couldn't be happier being able to provide my views on these questions, the first one being taken up from your FAQs is:
"How to find a mentor?"
Should you have one mentor in your life or many?
Should you focus on finding a mentor who has similar experiences as yours, or different?
Is it necessary to have a mentor who is older and more experienced than you?
All these questions, plus a lot more, answered on this episode on wari-Q.
If you have any follow up questions on "How to find a mentor" or mentor-ship or coaching, post them in the comments section below.

1:57 – 2:57 Find mentors for different domains of your life. Do not look for one mentor. Look for mentors who are experts in what they do.
2:58 – 4:44 Do not look for mentors who are out of your league. Look for mentors who are relatable and understandable. If your mentor and you have a very vast knowledge gap you’ll just end up feeling overwhelmed.
4:45 – 5:30 Seek mentors who have a different world view. They help you look at problems from a different perspective and help you grow instead of making you a bigger version of yourself instead of a better version of yourself.
5:31 Mentors at the same age usually helps implement tip #2
Thanks so much :))

Sir, in a different video you asked us to seek mentors who think the same as you and you gave examples like you don’t care about money and hence if i came up to you with the mindset of moneymaking you wont be able to help me; isn’t that contradictory.
Wow! This is amazing. I am 1 year late to check out this video but it has given me important insights. We are looking for a mentor who can help us to bootstrap the way to growth. We are on a journey to build a platform where children can explore their creative potential to the fullest by helping them with creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial mindset. In fact, we provide mentoring to children personally and for their projects.. that is the thing with which we distinguish ourselves from others. We are looking for mentors for our startup who might believe in the cause.
Great insights sir, starting watching your videos recently very inspiring.
Also I would like if you could talk about how to start your side hustle and generating passive income for sustainable future?
Great advise sir. I have some ideas after watching this. Never thought this way before.
Sir your command in English & Hindi is of ultimate level!
Last month I started a YouTube Channel on Personal Finance & Investments but make only voiceover videos with a keynote.
I am very well versed in English but feel very self conscious while speaking while the camera is rolling. Any advice?
Thanks a lot for sharing. But, you mostly answered who to find as a mentor rather than how to go about finding one. Please share that as well.
Once you know who to find, finding one becomes the job of the seeker.
I keep asking questions to u on various platforms like instagarm and YouTube about life and entrepneurship . This friday i asked a question about ANGEL INVESTING .. U said GOOGLE it… That was the real connect . Took ur course on personality development and also enrolled for the confrences and u became my teacher. Daily I learn new things from u. Thank u very much for the support. #respect
