SUMMARY:Becoming a Sexuality Educator and Trainer - September 21-23
DESCRIPTION:A 3-Day LIVE on Zoom\, ONLINE *certificate training for anyone who works with people with developmental disabilities.\n\n\nLearn to lead sexuality education classes\, staff trainings\, and parent workshops.  \nSept 21-23\, 2022 Registration is limited to 30 participants! Register today to secure a spot. *This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886798975-3456) for 17 continuing education contact hours\, and Sexuality Educators can get 8.75 CEs toward AASECT certification (see FAQ for details) \nIncrease your skill and comfort level when addressing sexuality with people with I/DD. \nFollowing the training\, participants will have the skills and three curriculum (with corresponding\, customizable slide decks)\, handouts\, teaching tools\, so they can lead: \n\nSexuality education classes for people with I/DD\nStaff trainings on how to address sexuality one-on-one with people with I/DD\nParent workshops on “How to Talk with your Kids about Sexuality.”\n\nDon’t miss this opportunity to get the training and support you need to make a difference in the lives of people with I/DD. \nThe goal of this training is to train an employee to become your agency’s or school’s staff/parent trainer and sexuality educator. This person will become more confident and comfortable leading sexuality education classes for people with I/DD as well as train staff and parents either one-on-one or in groups\, so they can promote the sexual health of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will leave with new knowledge and skills\, and 3 curriculum with handouts and teaching tools so you can begin as soon as you return to work following the training. \n*You will receive a certificate of attendance or\, if you pass an assessment following the training\, a certificate of completion. This certificate does not make you a certified sexuality educator and trainer. \nHere’s what our participants say: \n“This training conquered a challenging topic area that is so crucial and much needed to allow our clients to lead autonomous\, independent\, and fulfilling lives. I feel well prepared to take this on in my workplace\, providing trainings to our direct care staff and participants directly.” \n“This was the most well taught course of instruction and materials I’ve attended in years. Totally current and relevant\, Exceeded my expectations 100%. The quality of any energy experience in this course was of such high caliber that I would recommend it to any person serving the DD population.” \n“I learned a lot of different presentation techniques as well as different ways to keep the flow of a training going. I liked absolutely everything about the training. Honestly\, it was the best training that I have ever attended. I loved the content and presentation. I can’t wait to implement.” \n“I learned that I have the ability to train co-workers\, parents\, and clients about this topic. I liked that it was comfortable. The training was very informative. The curriculum is clear\, easy to use\, and thorough. When I return to work I am going to discuss this training with my supervisor and implement ASAP.” \nTraining Description \nWhen it comes to talking about sexuality\, people with disabilities are often excluded\, almost as if they are incapable of having sexual thoughts\, feelings and needs. In reality\, they too are sexual beings who need the information and skills for making healthy decisions about sexuality. Though agencies and schools who work with people with I/DD know that sexuality issues need to be addressed\, they don’t necessarily feel comfortable or competent enough to do so. This workshop will give you the curriculum\, tools\, and skills to teach sexuality education classes and lead staff training and parent workshops. \nObjectives \nAs a result of this training\, you will be able to: \n\nDescribe how to help people with disabilities become sexual self-advocates.\nIdentify our own values and attitudes and how those impact your ability and effectiveness in teaching this topic.\nExplore the qualities of a good sexuality educator and trainer.\nCreate elevator speeches to get buy in for implementation. \nExplain what makes it difficult for staff and parents to talk about sexuality with consumers and discuss solutions to those barriers. \nList ways to teach this topic with other agency staff\, parents\, and people with disabilities. \nDemonstrate effective training techniques to use with staff\, parents\, and people with disabilities.\n\nTuition: \nTuition for this certificate training is $1095\, or $845 if you already own a copy of Sexuality Education for People with Developmental Disabilities Curriculum. SUMMARY:What do senior leaders need from coaching now and how can we meet the need?
DESCRIPTION:Join us in dialogue with Ruth Simpson\, EMCC Global Master Coach\, 20+ years’ experience with senior leaders at board level\n\n\nThis is part of EMCC Global s GPS Dialogue Series of conversations leading on from the GPS – Global Provider Summit. It is aimed at Quality Award (EQA and ESQA) training providers\, ISMCP Award Holders and EMCC Organisational Members\, EMCC Global ‘Thought Leaders’ and organisations currently interested in accrediting their programme/s. \nThe dialogue takes place on Zoom\, and participants will be sent a link before the session. Expect to take part in a video-on\, microphone-on discussion as we seek to co-create the future for our professional practice. \nNOTE – an optional networking half-hour will take place after the end of this session\, to which you are warmly invited \n\n\nThe focus for this session will be what senior leaders need from coaching now and how we\, as coaches\, can best meet these needs. \nThis interactive session\, led by Master Practitioner Ruth Simpson\, will be based around two breakout discussions. \nThe first will explore what we are experiencing and noticing as we coach senior leaders at the moment. Specifically\, what are the coaching needs and how they are being addressed. \nThe second breakout will explore what this calls for from coaches. \nRuth’s hope is that as a result of the dialogue we will have challenged our current practice and explored ideas to develop moving forward. \n \n\n \nThroughout the dialogue Ruth will draw on her experience as a coach\, consultant\, facilitator and researcher\, working with senior leaders and their teams over the last 25 years.\n \nRuth will build on the discussions started at the EMCC Global GPS – Global Provider Summit – in November 2020 as captured below: \n\n\n\nAbout Ruth Simpson\nRuth Simpson enables leaders and teams to respond and adapt to change. An experienced executive coach\, consultant and facilitator\, she works in organisations with individuals and teams. With a corporate and consulting background\, she is an EMCC accredited coach at Master Practitioner level and is currently conducting PhD research exploring group coaching for the transition to senior leadership positions. \n\n\n\nConnect with Ruth Simpson\nLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/animiruthsimpson/\nWebsite: http://animi.org.uk/\n\n\n\nEMCC Global sets the standards for mentoring\, coaching and supervision\nEMCC Global exists to develop\, promote\, and set the expectation of best practice in mentoring\, coaching\, and supervision globally for the benefit of society. Our vision is to be the ‘go to’ body in mentoring\, coaching\, and supervision. \nBecome accredited – the status and designation you earn that sets you apart as a true professional in mentoring\, coaching\, supervision and programme management\nBecoming accredited really does set you apart from the rest. In a world where anyone can set up as a mentor or coach\, clients are increasingly looking for that level of professionalism that reassures them they are choosing someone who has invested in their own knowledge and who keeps up to date. In short\, they want to choose someone who knows what they are talking about and who has the experience and expertise they need to help them thrive. \nIf your own clients are not already accredited for their ongoing practice\, then they could be missing out. \nThe EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA) is an internationally recognised accreditation that demonstrates that an individual practising as a professional mentor and/or coach has the appropriate level of knowledge and the ability to apply it effectively in their practice\, and that they continue to adhere to the GLOBAL CODE OF ETHICS\, and commit to their own continued professional development\, reflective practice and supervision. \nPlease note that the recognition of prior accredited learning within the EIA process does enable an individual with previous accredited learning i.e. an approved qualification in mentoring and/or coaching (other than EMCC) to align their qualification/s to the EMCC Global Quality Award (EQA) assessment framework and thereby be exempt from producing additional evidence of their competence when applying for their EIA accreditation. \nThe EMCC Global Quality Award (EQA) is an internationally recognised accreditation for providers of mentoring/coaching training to make their qualifications/training widely and immediately recognisable. This is done through linking them to professional standards. It is an integral and essential step on the path to establishing the professional credibility and status of mentoring/coaching. \nEMCC has a dynamic framework for assessment based on extensive consultation and the most comprehensive competence research produced to date to inform mentoring/coaching and supervision professional standards and practice. The emphasis of the EMCC Global Accreditation process is to raise standards while acknowledging and celebrating existing excellence\, prior learning and experience. \nThe EMCC Global Supervision Individual Award (ESIA) is an internationally recognised accreditation that demonstrates that an individual practising as a professional mentor/coach supervisor has the appropriate level of knowledge and the ability to apply it effectively in his/her practice. \nThe EMCC Global Supervision Quality Award (ESQA) is an internationally recognised accreditation for mentoring/coaching supervision training programmes. Programmes attaining the ESQA are recognised by the EMCC as having met stringent professional standards. \nNOTE: The unique opportunity to embed the EMCC Global Individual Mentor/Coach Accreditation (EIA) and Supervision (ESIA) into the delivery of all Quality Award Programmes (EQA and ESQA) is now available for all EMCC Global Accredited Training Providers and their delegates. \nThe International Standards for Mentoring and Coaching Programmes (ISMCP) is an EMCC Global accreditation awarded to organisations designing\, delivering\, and evaluating mentoring and/or coaching programmes either ‘in-house’ or externally. It is an integral and essential step on the path to establishing the professional credibility and status of good mentoring and/or coaching programme management. \nThe EMCC Global Organisational Programme Manager Quality Award Training (PMQA) and Individual Accreditation for Programme Managers (IPMA) \nFor more information about accreditation\, visit https://www.emccglobal.org/accreditation/ \n\n\nQuestions?\nIf you have any questions\, contact nicola.brown@emccglobal.org \n\n\nEMCC Global exists to develop\, promote\, and set the expectation of best practice in mentoring\, coaching\, and supervision globally for the benefit of society. \nEMCC Global is active in more than 140 countries. We have more than 40\,000 graduates of EMCC Global-accredited training programmes worldwide. \nEMCC Global is very proud to be a trusted partner of some of the most prestigious providers of coaching\, mentoring\, and supervision training and post graduate study; and organisational executive leaders and their teams\, who have established distinguished and ‘world renowned’ coach\, mentor and supervision programmes. More and more practitioners are choosing EMCC Global for their Accreditation because of the depth of thinking\, reflection\, and innovation. \nEMCC Global accredits individuals (leaders\, coaches\, mentors and supervisors)\, training programmes\, and organisations. We recognise prior learning and experience in awarding individual accreditations – irrespective of provider or accreditation body.
