In this unique presentation by Renée McDonald, we will discuss the therapy field from the perspective of different roles and career pathways, along with who can help you with building your practice, professional network, or support you in an ongoing way. She will discuss and define the roles of Counsellor, Coach, Supervisor and Mentor, along with the nature of the different roles that could help you, no matter what your stage is, in your career. As a senior clinician in the field, Renée has supported clinicians in all of these roles at various times across the therapeutic community. What you will come out with, from this online workshop, are strategies and tools for picking and choosing the right support for you – at the right time, along with ideas for your own career progression. Renée will go through her own steps and tools she uses, along with those of the people she sees, as to how to move forward and to figure out who the right person may be for you, the right clinician, or support person for you at any given time. A strong counselling community relies on us all knowing what we want – so that we can be our best to support our clients to be their best!
In a unique reflection piece, we will be utilising reflexivity, along with tasks to get you thinking about your needs in a different way, so that you can feel more supported in the field.
