Multicultural virtual training February 5th & March 5th – 8:00 – 10:00am

The Dakota County Safe and Drug-Free Schools and the Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP) are pleased to host two multicultural trainings for local educators and student support personnel.

Presenter: Derek Francis, Manager of Counseling services, Minneapolis Public Schools.

Audience: Dakota County Safe and Drug-Free School Coordinators from all ten school districts, District Wellness Committee Members, and other district employees

Dates:

February 5: How to Talk about Race in Society with Students and Families – Practical strategies for engaging with students and families about race. We will also explore how race impacts mental health. Strategies will be offered to grow as an ally.


March 5: Proactive Strategies for Addressing Race in School – Unexpected acts of racism occurs in our schools and in our communities daily. This presentation will provide attendees with resources to support their school when race incidents occur.

FREE!! Registration is not required to attend but is required to obtain a Certificate of Attendance.

Register by February 4, 2021.
